On The King’s Agenda

Now this is power. Another reason to hate the “self proclaimed king,” a “usurper to the throne”, a “prima donna of the league”. Aren’t you glad to be a San Antonio band wagoner right now? The only team not affected by the hoopla.

Melo would’ve been talking strategy with Kobe by now, Bosh would’ve been enjoying the cash, and Granger would be the LeBron replacement, the new Robin when the aging Batman has to play lead hero again. But all of that has got to wait.

The man is all heart, heavy on sentimentality. He’s mind is calculating and smart about the business. This would’ve been all easy if the Cavs had a solid lineup like Chicago or D.C. or even Charlotte. Any team with youth and two pieces away from pushing it to the next level. He’d seen it, the pain of losing a season is too much to bear. The league has evolved so much that a team with Kobe and five others, or Jordan with seven solid teammates would stand no chance against this San Antonio team. That is if they get lucky to get past Indy or OKC.

The team he left in 2010 is still not better on paper or as seen last season. But since LeBron can push any team to hyperdrive maybe it will be better this time. Maybe Kyrie and Dion can take it down a notch towards efficiency versus prolificacy and play fearless like a young Dwyane. Maybe we’ll see a Gee and/or a Bennet coming off screens or sneaking under the rim with much more ease and purpose since LBJ will attract more attention from the defense.

LeBron in Cleveland is always on the King’s agenda like any King who wants to do good. It’s just that the King’s decision is based on his best interest, especially when there’s too much pressure to win and be measured as a true king. Maybe now he can now suck it all in and set aside all his fears and insecurities and believe his own hype and win it from where his empire was built.
