A prayer is a form of a hopeful song sung to the universe. It means absolutely nothing to a disengaged listener. It doesn’t heal the sick, it doesn’t feed the needy, it does nothing without action. If you believe it will lead you to proseperity, you got the whole prayer figured wrong.
Prayer, to a mind who can’t find answers, is fresh air filling up the lungs. Some of us don’t need to look for answers, some of us fear that our answer is unacceptable. A prayer to remind the heart what it knew all along. A prayer to inject courage where confidence is a fault.
Prayer is not about the brand of religion, or hitting the right notes. It’s about listening to the right words that will fill your heart full after giving it all away, again and again.
A silent prayer when everything don’t add up and you’re betrayed by what you believed was true. Sometimes words need to be said to give comfort or cause action. When we feel helpless to the universe, we say a prayer not to make miracles, but to be heard.
