The birds know not of the adage Seek and you shall... Calling out each other Faintly from the distance Indefatigably Singing three high-pitched notes of its purpose
Within the world, unaware of this Momentous struggle One of daily millions
Maybe forgotten before it can even be understood All happening at once Each of bellowing importance But only to each other Never mind the universe
An hour in and either gives up Hopefully swimming against The inevitable Gravity of Streaming down tragedy
And then the chirping stops Did they give up? Did they find each other I’d like to be an optimist But there’s just not enough Evidence to suggest As even the purest amongst the truest
