Three Deep Borderline

She looked at me
Trying hard
Not to break my heart

Feigning a weak disbelief
This most recent test
Amalgamated what we knew
Months in
She’d seen me or a version of me
In too many faceless samples
But for this
There were set
Expectations, unmet

From a friend who’s supposedly
Like minded
Where she looked for values
I drifted
To a shared belief of wasted time

There were obvious clues
And I missed it
Blank abyssmal, sublime

Through the wringer
She gave me a passing mark and not a score more
She’s not wasting integrity
For someone already out the door
Had I patiently solved Ys and Xs
Would I figured earlier my parallel attributes to the ellipsis?
