Spirit Crumble

I never knew
He always seemed strong
Kept it in
He never bothered me with
Anything
That may constitute
As weakness seeping in
Pop opinion boxed as
Just doesn’t care
When he says it
Never did it
Felt like he was seeking affirmation
Setting a tone for preconceived
And foregone conclusion
Instead, a fort and a mote
Crumbling from the inside?
No one can be sure
But if the construct, as with all of us
Then this is a poser
With bad posture
A construct, one of the many…
He will try to stand
Uncertain which side is up
A determined blank stare
Half wit and unaware
As the chorus looks on long enough
Enough for opinions to change
Enough for emotions to dissipate
And overall interest to wane
Then maybe there is hope for
Brittle spirits to amalgamate
A semblance of a backbone
With a will to face
Adapt, shed malcontence
Off a disappointing everyday
