Massive Landfall

Passed by a familiar reflection
A battened sybarite
Slowed down by years
Splurged in nights

Charged to a future
Not totally sold
Never admitting getting heavy
See it as gaining gravity
Consuming gravy
Glum coated in levity

Searched for a mentor, prior
To avoid the cracks and folds
Not akin to cyclones as they form
The cold air mixed with warm
Violent tendencies with an eye so calm
Dark gray skies,wracking storm

And only then the world took notice
Crashing into what it can no longer avoid
As a parallel, may not be a story of a stormy revolt
Bubbling under, about to explode
But rather, a folly of a consumerist
And his consumption
Unable, anymore, to hide the chain reaction

As seen briefly
An honest reflection
