The day starts with her opening her eyes
Catching a glimpse of my face
She’d bloom gently into a smile
And some days she’d find me by our round dining table
Engrossed in something worth doing
Greets me the same sunny way
I don’t deserve it
But I’d keep it
As it’s mine
Years begin the same way it ends
With a fresh day ready to be spent
Every moment
I look at my bucket
Of happiness
Filled to the brim
By the time the sun sets
I never feared the darkness since
