Slipped One In

They both know
Quite don’t understand
Predicaments
Played
By an invisible hand

Counting on, no measure
Is this a question
That requires no answer
Finds no comfort
In the unsure

But he slipped one in
And still, he stood
He tried to stop
But he’s reeled in good

A victim
Too willing
Can’t overlook the consequences
Can’t afford a new beginning

He just slipped one in
Augment the gap
For the long in-between
