The Vast Sea

There’s a vast sea of loneliness out there
Both overflow and undertow
That no matter how brief this dark moment is
The undulated negativity sweeps and pull relentlessly
Until it doesn’t

Fear its return
It lays gently as a cracking whip
That mild itch you feel when you cut and bleed
Never quite capture
Why we obsess
Or why we need

I just hope to survive the blitz
The torrent as it hits
Pick up every little piece that I can
And hopefully be allowed to build again
