The Edge

“On the cusp of both exhilarating and frightening”
We learned there
Are those among us who takes the credit
For the man who flew
As inversely, take the blame
For the many he pushed
To find that one that did
Fly
Eventually, we will collectively forget
That it was a challenge to fly
As we do now
Not care of how to properly drive

It was a sight to behold
A man
Preaching in the absence of words
Unprocessed nonsense
Passed as unpolluted chords
Banging the keys

As do words, must be blunt, callous, untethered
Piercing, breaking, shrieks

Burning to the ground
Buried by its own belief
Indulgent and unnecessary
The day we were told
That a life worth living
And a life worth saving
Were points of opposite poles
